Fundraising at MDNS ~
Mount Desert Nursery School is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit child care facility. We have three sources of funding which combine to cover the expenses of our daily operations, supplies, food and payroll. Our money is generated through student tuition, annual appeal contributions and Fundraising. Fundraising is a very important part of our school life and day to day operations.
Through out the year we have four major fundraisers that our parents, board members and staff work together to create and execute successfully.
Traditionally, we start the year with our Easter Bunny Pancake Breakfast. This is a great time for families to gather and eat together, as well as a chance to visit and take pictures with the Easter Bunny!
Our next fundraiser happens in the summer with our Summer Fair and Silent Auction. This year we are creating two events - the first being our Summer Fair (kids games, train rides, bounce house and cook-out fun!!) the second event being our Summer Reception and Silent Auction(A relaxed reception here at MDNS with the opportunity to bid in our silent auction).
As we move into the fall we join with the MDI Marathon to hold our Mile Marker Banner Auction as well as the MDI Marathon Kids Run. Runners, friends and family alike can bid on an original work of art - 26 in all, one to represent each mile of the marathon.
We end the year with our Festival of Trees. Local businesses sponsor and decorate holiday trees that are put on display for the community to see, enjoy and vote on their favorite. It's a fun, festive, community oriented atmosphere that is not to be missed!
